Familias Unidas con Niños con Necesidades Especiale (FUNNE) is an educational workshop for Spanish-speaking parents of children with special needs.

Joining us this month will be Dr. Armando Hernández-Morales, psychologist, who will explore different strategies of how to promote emotional well-being with a focus on families of young people with special needs. Following the presentation will be a question and answer session.

Epilepsy UpDate Dinner

The Epilepsy UpDate Dinner program is an opportunity to increasing knowledge on epilepsy and available treatments, improve the ability of patients to communicate effectively with health care providers, and to provide epilepsy self-management training and knowledge of community resources.

Dr. Paul Rutecki, University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics, will be presenting "Self-Management of Epilepsy". Cost is $7 for clients or consumers, and $12 for professionals; dinner is included. Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, September 18th, by clicking here.

Studio E: The Epilepsy Art Program

This year we'll be offering Studio E: The Epilepsy Art Program at a new time! Join us in the afternoon for the opportunity to express yourself through art as part of a six-week program. Participants will work with art therapists and others with epilepsy in a group setting to create artistic pieces using a variety of mediums, strengthen your artistic voice and learn from others in an open, welcoming environment.

Dr. Sean Lew, Medical Director of Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and Dr. Nador Khan, Pediatric Neurologist at the Medical College of Wisconsin, will be presenting "Epilepsy: It's a Family Affair"; presenters will also cover Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and Sudden Death in the Young (SDY).
